Hi, my name is Jens Lund, and I'm a 37-year-old freelance artist from Copenhagen, Denmark. I bought my first Marvel Comics book in October 1984, when I was 10 years old. The comics book was a Danish edition of Amazing Spider-Man ('Edderkoppen' in Danish). The story was from Amazing Spider-Man Annual #11, by Dennis O'Neil and Frank Miller. The cover really popped from the newsstand at the local grocery store. I much later discovered that the Danish publisher had used a Marvel Team-Up promo poster from 1983 by Ron Frenz for the cover, which I thought was really cool. I really was excited to find out who all those characters on the cover were, and would study them for hours. (This was long before Wikipedia, so it took me a few years to figure out who the heck the white toaster with the red light beam was, LOL ' ROM, The Spaceknight, I later learned.)
I've been a loyal Marvelite since then. (DC never really made an impact on me, though I did enjoy Byrne's revamp of Superman way back then.)
I used to have all my books stored in boxes, but I really like just being able to grab a book without the hassle of having to sort through all the heavy boxes (and because I lack storage space.) Instead I have all books in open or closed cabin shelves, all bagged and boarded. (About 8,400 comics.) Though I still have some boxes tucked away, since I finally did run out of space, LOL.
Here's a look at my stuff, hope you enjoy it.

This is one of my favorite statues, the Thanos and Mistress Death Diorama. The infinity Gauntlet lights up when flicked on.
My newest addiction is IDW's Artist's Edition. They are amazing, but I'm having a real hard time figuring out how to display and store them; they won't fit into any regular shelves, for sure'so here they are, on the floor.

Sideshow's Thor and Cap standing tall (Shipping them to Denmark was a pain, but worth every $). The Thor statue is an exclusive model (2 heads) I prefer to display the Walter Simonson version, with the beard). This was actually my second Sideshow Thor statue, the first (regular edition) got its cape broken to pieces when I accidentally dropped a piece of furniture on it ' argh, I hated myself for weeks after that.

Alex Ross Life size Spider-man bust was a hard buy: The seller I bought it from on E-bay, was'nt able to ship abroad, so I had it shipped to a friend's house in NYC instead, and 6 months later I was lucky to convince another friend who was visiting NYC from Copenhagen to pick it up at my friends house. He never forgave me for asking him this favor, lol ' he had to buy an extra suitcase to transport the bust, and he told me later that he felt very awkward riding in a cab with a Spider-Man head on his lap. (Plus, it's pretty heavy.) Best friend ever!

I've never been a huge Tintin fan, but I really dig the statues, so I've been collecting a few of them over time.
( somehow my non-comics friends seems to have a better knowledge and understanding of Tintin, than f.ex. Thanos, lol )
Love the Marvel Omnibus'the DVD box set is the Incredible Hulk complete series, I still have not had the time to watch all episodes, saving it for a rainy day.

This may have surpassed Ken Stacks (http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2010/10/send-us-your-shelf-porn-88/#more-58100) as my favorite Shelf Porn.
So clean and well maintained. The only thing I would have differently if this was my collection, is put glass doors on the shelves with the solid wood ones.

nice love that hobgoblin piece including his evil grin and how he is on the glider without looking like he could fall off and smash to pieces. plus this is the second time i have seen that scarlet witch piece with a litle baby vision . may have to track one down one myself. and you have a good friend who was willing to travel with that spider man head.
This has got to be the best Shelf Porn Saturday collection I've seen! The well organized collection is amazing and the statues and figures are the coolest ever!
This not comics related, but I love, absolute love your furniture! Danish furniture with its simple classy elegance is highly sought after in the U.S., especially the retro-modern ones from the 50's and 60's, which are highly collectible and sought after.

I would have love to show pics of the comics in my collection, but I figured it would be best to just show what I have on display, and not go beyond that. But to give you an idea, the collection includes a lot of key issues, FF#48, AMS #50, #121,122,128 (CGC's 8.5-9.2) Iron Man #55 CGC 8.5, Hulk #81, Silver Surfer #1, Giant Size X-Men #1, etc.
The reason I prefer the closed cabins, are to protect them from direct sunlight exposure. I've mounted all my cabins on the wall, as it gives an illusion of more floorspace (Plus, much easier to vacuum clean)
As Fero mentioned in his post above, it's not the first time I've been confused with my name sake ( I did not know, he had passed away, though ) An old friend googled me once, and travelled across country for a surprise visit, he was a bit shocked when there wan an elderly man at the door instead of me. At least he learned to call ahead, the next time, lol.

Good point. I should've mentioned, that I really don't get any real direct sunlight, my duplex is behind another building, so I get sunlight kind of sideways, that's why I don't have any plants, there's just not enough light to keep them alive.

Great set-up you have there, mate. I run my family's interior design business and I have to say I'm very impressed with the way you've managed to keep your space clean. It's a big challenge for my team whenever we engage clients who have hobbies like collectibles ' that is, how to store their collections without basically putting them 'in storage' (i.e. out of sight). Usually, we resort to custom solutions, which can be pricier but comics tend to be easier because they're book-like (especially collections).
Anyway, I was thinking about your small issue with how to store, display your artists' edition. I have the Romita and Simonson AA's myself and display them as I would a large coffee-table book ' on top of a wide-table, ideally with another object to serve as contrast. In my case, I lay them beside some orb-shaped display candles (contrast) rested on a small tray.
Alternatively, I noticed some of your walls are bare, so you may want to use 'floating' shelves. You can prop them up on the shelves, facing outwards, perhaps side-by-side with a figurine (like your Thor figurine w/the Simonson AA). The books are beautiful enough to act as display pieces (as are Mignola's oversized Hellboy HCs).
I've seen discreet solutions for displaying coffee table books facing outwards (i.e. a book display stand) without damaging the book (a big concern for collectors like ourselves). I'm sure you won't have a hard time finding those in Denmark ' you've got such wonderful design and furniture there.

I'm curious to know where you got all the Tintin statues, because those are all just amazing. Specially that Blue Lotus one and the Seven Crystal Balls mummy, hoo boy.
