Shelf Porn Saturday | Toys and TPB's in Texas

Shelf Porn Saturday | Toys and TPB's in Texas

Hello and welcome to Shelf Porn, where we give fans the opportunity to show us their collections. Today's shelves come from Jesse Dobson, an English teacher in Texas who shows us his collection of trades, toys and more.

If you'd like to see your collection here, drop me a note at jkparkin@yahoo.com. Let's make it happen!

And now here's Jesse:

I'm Jesse Dobson, and I'm an English teacher from Texas. I have a wife and a son (who watches Batman and Avatar cartoons with me), and I've loved comic books since I was about ten years old. I'm hoping my collection eventually grows into its own room. Thanks for checking it out!

I have a fairly small but eclectic collection of trade paperbacks and random cool stuff. I used to collect comics issue by issue (and I still have about four boxes of those in the top of my closet), but now that I'm older and busier I appreciate a publisher who puts together a full storyline in larger, more convenient volumes.

I'm probably proudest of my Transmetropolitan collection. I also love my From Hell and my Tales from the Crypt books. The Flight collections and Ghost World book are also pretty awesome. The Buffy lunchbox is my wife's, as are the Adventure Time figurines. The Beavis and Butt-head and Felix figures are all mine, though.

Only the second volume of All Star Superman? Weird.

short but nice and' no Marvel comics!!!!!!

Man, you are my hero.

Marvel 1602 next to Transmetropolitan! I'm an uberdork.

nice small but cool any way collection did not know that felix the cat figure existed.

Do yourself a favor and throw the Sin city trade out in the street. otherwise nice collection

Thanks for the comments y'all! I'm not sure where I got that Felix figure, and I've pretty much stopped collecting Frank Miller stuff since I started reading about how crazy he's gotten. Maybe he was always crazy. I don't have much Marvel stuff, but I do have some Spider-Man and Daredevil titles. The second All-Star Superman is there because I had not heard of it until I saw it at the store and I totally didn't even look at the number before I bought it. When I have an extra twenty bucks I'll be buying the first volume. This stuff gets expensive.
